The green badge is the product

After every conversion we re-add your statement the way your bank did: beginning balance, every credit, every debit, ending balance. When it matches to the cent, you get the badge. When it doesn't, you get a red panel showing the exact rows to review — before the file ever reaches QuickBooks.

That single check catches missed rows, duplicated rows and sign errors — the three ways free converters quietly ruin a month-end close.

Reconciled ✓

$12,440.12 beginning + 87 transactions = $9,318.44 ending. Verified to the cent.

  • Balance chain: 87/87 rows verified
  • Totals match the summary page
  • No duplicates, no out-of-period dates

Why free PDF tools break your books

Generic converters don't fail at reading text — they fail at understanding what a statement is. These are the six ways they go wrong, and what we do instead. Read the full breakdown.

Multi-line descriptions

A purchase whose memo wraps to three lines becomes three fake transactions — two of them with empty amounts.

We merge continuation lines back into the transaction they belong to.

Debit/credit columns merged

Statements print debits and credits in separate columns. Generic tools squash them into one column and the signs come out wrong.

We read which column each amount sits in — the sign is decided by position, not guesswork.

Headers imported as rows

“Page 2 of 8”, account numbers and statement-period lines get extracted as transactions on every page.

Page furniture is filtered twice — by layout and by pattern — before anything becomes a row.

Balance rows as transactions

“Beginning Balance $4,210.55” imported as a transaction double-counts your money instantly.

Balance and totals lines feed the reconciliation check — they never enter your transaction list.

Multi-account PDFs mashed

Checking and savings in one PDF get glued into a single sheet that matches neither account.

Each account is split into its own table with its own reconciliation and its own export file.

Errors pass silently

Missed rows, duplicated rows, shifted amounts — you find out inside QuickBooks, an hour before close.

Beginning balance + transactions = ending balance is verified on every file. If it's off, we say so and show you where.

Optimized for your bank's layout

Every bank formats statements differently. We maintain tuned layouts for the largest US banks — and a generic engine, guarded by reconciliation, for everything else.

Straight into your ledger

  • QBO Web Connect. File → Import into QuickBooks Online. FITIDs prevent duplicates on re-import.
  • QuickBooks CSV. 3-column and 4-column presets that match the QBO upload screen exactly.
  • Xero CSV. Xero's column layout, including payee and reference fields.
  • Excel & OFX. Clean .xlsx for analysis; OFX for desktop accounting tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your PDF is read locally and never sent to our servers. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools (Network tab): no file upload happens. Optional AI extraction for scanned statements (in early access) is the only feature that processes files in the cloud, and it is strictly opt-in per file.

What formats can I export?

QBO (QuickBooks Web Connect, ready for Banking → Upload from file), CSV presets for QuickBooks (3-column and 4-column) and Xero, Excel (.xlsx), OFX, and a generic CSV with running balance. All formats are available on the free tier — we don't watermark or cripple free exports.

What does 'reconciled' actually mean?

After extraction we verify, deterministically: beginning balance + every transaction = the ending balance printed on your statement (plus totals, duplicates and date-range checks). If anything is off by even a cent, the report turns red and points at the suspect rows instead of handing you a broken file.

How much is free?

3 pages every day, no account, no card, full export formats. Registered and Pro limits arrive with paid plans — join the waitlist on the pricing page for founding-member pricing.

My statement is scanned (a photo, not a digital PDF). Will it work?

Scanned PDFs have no text layer and need AI vision extraction, which is in early access. Upload one and we'll detect it automatically, then offer to notify you when cloud extraction opens for you.

Do you support my bank?

We ship optimized layouts for the 10 largest US banks and card issuers (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, Amex, US Bank, PNC, TD Bank, Truist) plus a generic engine for everything else, including credit unions. If your bank isn't optimized, the reconciliation check still tells you whether the output is trustworthy — and you can request your bank be added.
